My Top Worst TV Advertisements

Here I am, sitting down after a long hot day in Rajasthan....trying to wind down by watching TV. Every 2 minutes I have to endure those commercial breaks. And some of them really turned me off the product they are trying to advertise altogether.

Here's a few of the ads which really get me that I really really have to switch over to another channel (I don't really like to change channels when I'm watching a program in case I miss something)
  1. Bru Cappuchino / Bru Cold Coffee: Am I supposed to like those ladies with froth on their lips? Do they really think that will sell? Or may be they think that moustache on girls will be in fashion!!!
  2. Foster (The one with Belly Dance): It starts off with "How to speak Australian?" And then they showed audience in a stadium shouting "Ogi Ogi Ogi Oye oye oye"; which is as Welsh as you'll ever get. I do wish the ad exec will do their research properly. May be they think noone will know.
  3. McDonald's (with the guy as steward): That guy with all the nose ring and his Coke Addict face is supposed to make me want to eat at McDonald's???? Seriously??? I don't think so. Seriously.
  4. Dish TV (with all the family): "Iske lagala toh life jinga la la" OK I really don't know what bugs me with this one, except that I can't stand it.
  5. Matrix (with the loo): "You are pissing away precious money" with the background noise of someone pissing??? Need I say more?
  6. Matrix (all those featuring the same fat guy): What do they really see in that guy? His face was enough to make me switch channels not to mention his speaking and acting.
  7. All the Liqour ads using CDs or Bottled water or Holiday as the front: OK so you are not allowed to advertise...so why do it?

I could go on and on......

And what about Shah Rukh Khan in every second ad? I can't keep up with what he's advertising at all.

Saying that, there are quite a few tasteful ads around...but for me nothing beats the good old days and the likes of Red Cow and Washing Powder Nirma.

Holi

Holi's here again and gone again now.....

Neighbours dropped by to throw dye at us and the whole house has been coloured. Even the baby got some colour.

I've been a little nostalgic today, remembering 'the Holi' in Hyderabad. We were just young kids that time, still in college; the year Eli had a house just outside the hostel gate. Our friends dropped by with you know what and got wasted; we all had a laughing fit. Some because of you know what and some because they were soooo funny.

What a time!!!! Those were the days when we had no responsibility and can do whatever just because we can.

Now that time has gone, each of us are so busy with life and responsibility that we no longer had time to talk to each other, or find out about the others. I wish I could go back to that time.
